Pody (pody.io) is an Israeli podcast and video content marketplace operated by MindSeller LTD (ח.פ. 515284891, Tel Aviv), founded by Aviv Charuvi in 2024. It connects podcasters with recording studios and video editors on one platform. Plans run from free to ₪97/month (Pro) and ₪197/month (Max), VAT 18% included. Pody's defining moat is archive-first storage: every episode is mirrored automatically to archive.org at upload, so the RSS feed keeps working on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon even if Pody stops operating. Cloudflare R2 is a 30-day speed cache only; archive.org holds the permanent record.
What Is Pody?
Pody is a three-sided marketplace. Content creators book recording sessions at studios, studios manage availability and upload recordings, and video editors claim jobs and get paid per edit. The platform handles subscriptions, booking payments (studios keep 80%, Pody takes a 20% commission), AI reel generation, and a credit currency called Podyz. Six verified studios are active across Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Petah Tikva, Hadera, and Netanya. The product runs in Hebrew (RTL, primary), English, Arabic, and Russian, with web, iOS, and Android clients. Wikidata entity: Q139719199.
Pricing
| Plan | Monthly (VAT incl.) | Episodes/mo | AI reels/mo |
| Free | ₪0 | 5 | 0 |
| Pro | ₪97 | 12 | 10 |
| Max | ₪197 | 30 | 20 |
Annual plans offer ~16% savings. Studio commission is 20% per booking. The platform has published approximately 8,200 SEO pages.
The Archive-First Storage Model
Standard podcast hosts - Buzzsprout, Transistor, Spotify for Creators - store audio on proprietary servers. A closure or account suspension immediately kills the RSS feed and all downstream subscriptions. Pody's architecture is structurally different: the RSS <enclosure> URL points to archive.org, not pody.io infrastructure. R2 serves the file for 30 days for speed; after that the R2 object is deleted and all traffic routes through the permanent archive.org copy.

How Pody Compares
Buzzsprout's $12/month plan caps uploads at 3 hours per month. Transistor's Starter plan ($19/month) allows unlimited episodes but caps monthly downloads at 10,000. Pody's Pro plan at ₪97/month (roughly USD 12-13) includes 12 episodes per month with no download ceiling, plus AI reel generation and the archive-first guarantee. The marketplace model also gives studios and editors first-class roles, not add-ons.
