2. Editor Compensation

Quick answer: A Pody editor receives 78% of what the client paid. Pody takes 22% (covers credit-card processing, platform, support, marketing). A 30-min episode priced ₪300 → editor receives ₪234 + tips. Auto-payment on the 7th of every month for all approved episodes from the prior month. No hidden fees. Israeli industry standard is 50-60% to editor — Pody gives 78%.

Payout formula

Editor payout = Client price × 0.78 − Credit-card fee (2.3%)

Example: Client paid ₪300 for episode editing.
  Editor base   = 300 × 0.78 = ₪234.00
  CC fee deduct = 300 × 0.023 = ₪6.90
  Editor net    = 234.00 − 6.90 = ₪227.10
  Tips (separate) = client's discretion, 100% to editor

Why 78% and not 100%

Pody takes 22% to cover: credit-card processing (5%), portfolio storage (2%), support and dispute resolution (4%), marketing that drives clients to the editor (8%), gross margin (3%). It's not 22% profit — it's 22% covering expenses a freelance editor would otherwise pay themselves.

  • How: Bank transfer or Bit (editor's choice)

  • Tax: Pody does not withhold — editor's responsibility to report. Annual summary in January.
