Pody Handbook 3: Credits System — 3 Currencies
3. Credits System
Quick answer: Pody uses 3 types of credits: (1) Podyz — universal currency, 1 podyz = ₪1 + VAT, use for any service, (2) Recording Credits — locked to a specific studio that sold them, not transferable, (3) Editing Credits — locked to specific editor or Pody pool. Why 3 not 1? Each underpins different relationships — Podyz balances you with us, Recording Credits balance you with the studio, Editing Credits balance you with the editor.
How each currency works
Podyz
- Value: 1 podyz = ₪1 + 18% VAT (= ₪1.18 in practice)
- Use: any Pody service — studios, editors, AI reels, plan upgrade
- Validity: 12 months from purchase
- Refund: within 14 days, no questions. After 14 days — can transfer to a friend.
Recording Credits (per-studio)
- Why studio-locked: the studio sold them — Pody doesn't interfere with their internal pricing
- Use: only for bookings at the studio that issued them
- Validity: 24 months — double Podyz because studio is the serious side
- Refund: studio policy, not Pody
Editing Credits
- Per-editor: locked to specific editor. Same rules as Recording Credits.
- Pody pool: available to any editor in Pody's pool — whoever takes the job gets paid (78%)
- Validity: 12 months
Why not one currency?
One currency would mean Pody stands behind all internal value across the platform. That's not true. The studio stands behind its credits, the editor behind theirs, Pody behind Podyz. Three separate accountabilities = real transparency. If a studio closes — its credits won't disappear, Pody guarantees transfer to a replacement studio in the nearest city.
