Quick answer: The Pody Method is an opinionated 8-chapter manifesto on producing a Hebrew-language podcast in 2026 — from topic selection to monetization. Each chapter is short, data-backed, and not skippable. Inspired by Linear Method, GitLab Handbook, and Stripe Atlas.
The Pody Method
How to produce an Israeli podcast. Zero to monetization. 8 chapters. No bullshit.
Why we wrote it
Most Israeli podcasters quit twice. First time: they record on their phone in the living room, manage 1-2 episodes, and break from production overhead. Second time, six months later: they realize they need a system. The Pody Method is the system we wish we'd had when we started.
At Pody we built a marketplace of studios + video editors + hosting platform with automatic archive.org backup. But even the best platform can't replace a method. This is the method.
The 8 chapters
- 1. Topic and format selection — pick a topic with a market, in a format you can sustain a year
- 2. The recording setup — what you actually need, what to skip. Gear for ₪1,500 that sounds pro
- 3. Episode structure that works — Hook + Promise + Payoff. First minute keeps 87% of listeners
- 4. Editing workflow — what to edit yourself, what to hand to a pro. Budget ₪200-800 per episode
- 5. Launch strategy — 3 episodes, not 1. Why order matters more than episode 1's quality
- 6. Growth engine — how to go from 50 to 5,000 listeners without paid ads
- 7. Real monetization — sponsorships, Patreon, Spotify Partner Program. Threshold 1,000 listeners
- 8. Sustainability — how not to break after 12 episodes. When to stop, when to push
Who this isn't for
If you're looking for "10 quick podcast tips" — read a different blog. The Method is long, opinionated, and sometimes uncomfortable. We wrote it this way on purpose. Podcasting is a multi-year commitment, not a weekend project.
The method is open source
This isn't a product. There's no paywall. The method draws on hundreds of podcasters who worked with Pody and on our own mistakes. Found an error? Have a different view? Want to add? Email aviv@pody.io — we'll update.
